Whether the style is rustic or contemporary, Wes Hanson Builders has been creating beautiful custom homes for the past 27 years. 17 of which were in the lakes area. A full service builder, owners and cousins Tom and Todd Hanson both agree there is no job too big or small for them to tackle. “We will look at anything and we’re geared for everything” said Tom, “whether it’s light commercial, and addition or remodeling an older cabin.” “Our main niche is the custom home, and our reputation was built on that; but we are a full service builder,” added Todd. Wes Hanson Builders is a family run business and was founded by Todd’s father, Wes Hanson in 1985. Wes started in the building business in the late 1950’s for Southside Lumber in the Twin Cities metro. He began building homes in the early 1970’s and formerly started Wes Hanson Builders in 1985.

“The intent was that we would continue with Wes’s vision for the company,” said Tom. Today the company employs around 30 local carpenters and craftsmen, and while some of the work is subcontracted, they keep things local. The cousins agree that the company would not be what it is without their employees. “They’re everything” said Tom and Todd. “It’s really the people behind the scenes that keep the company together,” said Tom, “and we have a dedicated workforce including some 16 and 17-year employees.” Continued...
